Your Web 3 Guru and Moonbet presenting todays match: FC Utrecht – Heracles Almelo
FC Utrecht set a new club record last week with a 1-0 victory over FC Twente. The team from the Dom City is now undefeated for the first time in fourteen consecutive league matches in its club history (W6, D8), achieving this feat in a season where it was at the bottom of the Eredivisie table after ten rounds with the worst goal difference. Under the guidance of Ron Jans, the team gained more stability. And since the arrival of Sam Lammers, Utrecht has found it much easier to score than in the first half of the season.
With a victory, the Utrechters would climb back to seventh place, effectively erasing the dramatic start of the season. The first three home matches of this campaign were all lost. But since then, every game at the Galgenwaard Stadium has yielded at least one point. In the last two home games, Utrecht even scored four goals each. Taylor Booth suddenly became the club’s top scorer by scoring five of those goals, but he suffered an injury last week and will not return to the match squad for the time being.
The recent losses against Ajax, NEC, and PSV were manageable for Heracles, especially since the team lost by ‘only’ two goals. It was crucial that the recent encounters with bottom-ranked teams RKC Waalwijk, FC Volendam, and Vitesse did not end in defeat, and that was achieved. RKC was beaten 1-2, Volendam salvaged a point, and Vitesse squandered a 2-0 lead and eventually lost 3-2 in Almelo.
Heracles Almelo
Heracles is now four points above the relegation zone and nine points above the direct relegation spots. The Heraclieden, along with bottom-dweller Volendam, have conceded more than 50 goals in the league (52), but it could have been much worse. Goalkeeper Michael Brouwer made at least four more saves than all other goalkeepers in the league combined.
Hot Stats
Players to watch: Jens Toornstra has been involved in as many goals in his last four matches (D2, A2). Jizz Hornkamp has scored five times in his last five games.
